History, charm, good food and glorious views in the heart of the Bay Of Islands.

Stunning water views
Delicious, healthy breakfasts
Feather pillows & duvets or anti-allergenic if you prefer
Historic, character filled house

Commanding a magnificent position with sweeping water views over tranquil Matauwhi Bay, Arcadia Lodge is a Russell landmark, a turn of the century home and bed and breakfast. For many of our guests one of their greatest pleasures is simply to sit and drink in the 180 degree views of water, bush and yachts.

Accommodation is in three spacious suites with private decks and magnificent views of the bay while upstairs are two double rooms with water views and a super-king room. One of the suites has two bedrooms, making it suitable for a couple, two friends or up to four people traveling together.

The house is furnished in a relaxed blend of the traditional and contemporary with English and American Arts and Crafts furniture on 100 year old, honey-coloured kauri floorboards. A mixture of western and Pasifika art adds to the house's warm, comfortable feel, creating a relaxing space in which to unwind.

Tautoru room detailStart your day on the deck with our generous, healthy breakfast: freshly squeezed Kerikeri orange juice and Northland fruit, home made muesli, organic yoghurt, our own jams and preserves, organic coffee and teas, followed by a delicious café-style cooked special. Then head out to explore Russell's charming heritage village and the amazing Bay of Islands beyond.

The pace in Russell is gentle and unhurried (rushing is illegal in Russell) and we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful corner of the world.
